Q: Is IRWIN a publicly traded company?

A: IRWIN Industries is a privately-held, wholly-owned subsidiary of Park Corporation of Cleveland, Ohio. As a privately-held company, we are able to respond quickly to market forces and are able to re-invest a large percentage of our revenues in our company. This has resulted in enhanced financial strength, giving our company greater flexibility and access to resources than many larger, publicly-traded companies.

Q: What is IRWIN’s relationship with UNIT Construction?

A: In March of 2001, UNIT Construction merged with IRWIN. The combined company now employs more than 1,000 workers throughout the nation. The merger enhanced IRWIN’s construction and engineering capabilities, which have enabled us to effectively compete in both new and existing markets.

Q: What is IRWIN’s business strategy?

A: IRWIN’s business strategy is to strengthen our position in the markets we serve by providing superior service to each of our customers, enhancing long-term relationships, and expanding the range of services we provide. We will also selectively target geographic areas for expansion through increased penetration or development of new markets.

In 2000, IRWIN’s management embarked upon a multi-year initiative to reinvent the company. This initiative sought to improve service levels, gain business flexibility and realize operational efficiencies through the application of best practices, and re-position the company through a targeted branding campaign.

To implement the plan, IRWIN recruited a senior management team with significant expertise to effectively re-charge the company and chart a course for unprecedented growth. To support this effort, the company relocated its corporate headquarters to a new, 52,000-square-foot facility and established an innovative craft and safety training center. By adding the capability to train and certify our employees, we have been able to increase our volume of business and deliver enhanced service to our clients.

We have recently launched a brand identity campaign that we feel captures the essence of the new IRWIN.

Q: What does the new IRWIN brand symbolize?

A: We are a company of more than 1,000 leaders who are passionate about what we do – a company that values professional and technical performance – a company committed to going beyond the constraints of convention and setting a new standard for service excellence – a company committed to setting a new standard for quality and safety.

Q: What has been the reaction inside the company to the new brand?

A: Our employees are energized by the new brand identity because they know it is important to the company’s success, and they have been important drivers in the company’s repositioning. Our company slogan: “Passion. Power. Performance.” was developed by our employees and has come to symbolize IRWIN’s new corporate culture.

Q: What do these changes mean for customers?

A: The new brand will make it easier for customers to understand us and do business with us. Each of IRWIN’s departments has been re-aligned to support the company’s business competencies.

Q: What does this mean for IRWIN’s future?

A: We are highly optimistic given our ability and commitment to exceed customer expectations and outperform the competition.
